House Council

The system of Houses in school is deeply entrenched and occupies a prominent place in the school life of a student. The members of the house council should ideally consist of members who can lead with integrity, participate actively in school activities and persevere to overcome challenges that come their way. They should lead with passion in all that they undertake. They are required to be mature, responsible and capable of making excellent choices, whether for the house, at school functions or during their everyday activity. They must display a positive attitude, show politeness and aspire for perfection in all that they do. They should ensure that the house maintains punctuality in all specified activities as per daily routine. In addition they must also ensure maximum participation of the children in various co-curricular and house activities. They should also help in planning various inter-house competitions.

At DBS, the House System not only offers the prospect for healthy competitions with a highly stimulating atmosphere, but it also helps to build positive self-esteem and leadership qualities. The School has been divided into four houses Red Raiders, Yellow Yeomen, Green Gems and Blue Bravos. Each house is an autonomous unit under the care of a House In charge. Each House has its own House Captain, Sr. Prefect and Jr. Prefect. A series of activities and fixtures are held at Inter House Level. Inter house competitions are regularly held in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. These competitions give the students an abundant chance to display their skills. The competitions are conducted in poetry recitation, declamation, singing, dancing, quiz, rangoli besides other events. The school believes in training students for Leadership and sharing responsibilities.
